A beautiful story of two young women who are so focused on proving they're meant to be together that they end up hurting each other in the process. This gorgeous graphic novel is an LGTBQ+ romance about young love and how it can grow into something strong no matter what obstacles get in the way.

Coming Back by Jessi Zabarsky would always remain close to my heart for various reasons. 
On the top of the list being, this is my first ever Graphic novel.
The illustrations are immersive and ethereal with beautiful use of colours which goes well with the theme and situations.

The story follows Preet and Vasilissa who belong to a tribe with magical powers of Shifter and Shaper, the ancient two Gods. 
Vasilissa is gifted with the special abilities of shifting and shaping, so when a mysterious fog takes over their village, she sets upon an adventure to fix the problem, leaving behind Preet 

I love how sensitively the topic of single parenthood has been addressed. Preet takes upto herself to raise a daughter, against the societal norms and traditions. She breaks barriers to make a change and hence has to leave her village. But that doesn't break her spirit. She finds them a safe shelter in a different town and even a job for herself later.
Nothing stops her in her sole mission to give her daughter a good and safe life.

The protagonists, Preet and Vasilissa are the two most brave fictional characters I have come across. 
After being separated to fight their own battles, they learn and unlearn things that make them better person at the end. And in that process they also bring about change in their society.

Highly recommended for all!

  *Book Review* Author- Rahul Pandita Genre- Non fiction Rating- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 A real life memoir of a Kashmiri Pandit caught in the turmoil during the 1990 exodus . The horrors of militancy and refugee life seen through the eyes of the author who was then 14 years old. The sufferings and pain of the survivors cannot be shared. It's unfathomable. The unfolding of the darkest days of post independence India makes one wonder how could a country just forget their own countrymen caught in between geopolitical and religious cross fire.
